shadow work x human design | excavating the head center

In Human Design, the Head Center governs how our body processes & expresses focus, attention, & inspiration. (If you’re brand new to human design, start here to learn more about the Head Center, and how it feels when it’s open and when it’s closed) 🖤

Here are some Shadow Work Journal prompts to consider as you’re going through the de-conditioning process with this center.

Closed Head Center:

  • What conditioning have I received about my ability to focus and pay attention? How has this shaped my perspective about the importance of attentiveness?

  • What conditioning have I received about the value of inspiration and imagination?

  • Think about a time when you preemptively decided something (an experience, an idea, etc) didn't interest you prior to experiencing it that you regret. How can you call in more exploration and open-mindedness while also staying true to what you know about your interests/what inspires you?

Open Head Center:

  • What conditioning have I received about my ability to focus and pay attention? How has this shaped my perspective about the importance of attentiveness?

  • Who are the people or what are the events/circumstances most likely to divert or pull your attention on a regular basis? What procedures or structures could you put in place to help you bring more focus to your attention?

  • When are you most likely to take on the issues of others? Where are you likely to get fixated on challenges or problems that aren’t yours to solve? What steps can you take to mitigate these behaviors?

Over the next few months, I'll be sharing where to look in your chart and how to engage with what you find to get the most out of your Human Design experiment. But if you're ready to get started NOW, join the catalyst | fire community. This work is our focus for October & November.
